Upon arrival to Santiago attend the Pilgrim's Mass and tour the historic Cathedral. Experience the intimacy and beauty of the landscapes of northern Spain while hiking from village to village.
An active program that brings into sync mind, body, and spirit through walking the pilgrim's way.
Each day rise with the sun to your back and walk towards the sunset. You'll experience an awakening inside you that you never imagined!
Stops along the way include ancient churches, monasteries, and other unique romanesque buildings that have been assisting those walking the Camino for centuries.
Arrive to the Madrid Airport (MAD) for our pick up services. Plan to arrive by 11 AM.
We will sleep in albergues (guest houses), as this is typical to the Camino experience. You will need to bring a sleep sack or lightweight sleeping bag.
You will receive a complete packing list before departure.
Delivery service is included to transport your luggage from albergue to albergue so you only need to walk with a small daypack of essential items.
All breakfasts (European style), lunches (picnic or restaurant depending on the day), and dinners are included.
A dedicated program director will accompany the group for the entirety of the program.
Attend the Pilgrim's Mass in Santiago and embark on a guided tour of the majestic Cathedral.
Return to Madrid for a final evening and farewell dinner to say goodbye to new friends and celebrate all that you have accomplished!
Drop-off at the Madrid Airport (MAD) by your program director.
Day 1: Airport pick up in Madrid*. Travel from Madrid to Sarria by high-speed train (4 hours). Overnight in Sarria.
Day 2: Sarria to Portomarín (23 km)
Day 3: Portomarín to Palas de Rei (25 km)
Day 4: Palas de Rei to Arzúa (26 km)
Day 5: Arzúa to Pedrouzo (24 km)
Day 6: Pedrouzo to Santiago (20 km)
Day 7: Santiago excursion
Day 8: Santiago to Madrid. Farewell Dinner.
Day 9: Airport drop off in Madrid.
*For those students already in Santiago on the Spanish Immersion program they will meet the Camino group in Sarria.
