A world-class capital renowned for its European architecture and historic neighborhoods, Buenos Aires offers an urban immersion experience unlike any other. Our Arcos Journeys Abroad program provides superior instruction at Academia Buenos Aires, the city’s only Cervantes-accredited institute, which has been a leader in Spanish language education since its founding in 2004. Leveraging over 20 years of on-site expertise, we curate a staff-led itinerary—from traditional Tango performances and pottery workshops to weekend boat trips to Uruguay—ensuring a safe, high-impact journey into the heart of Argentine culture. Beyond individual growth, students connect with the local community in the world’s widest river valley, fostering a spirit of global citizenship while exploring the parks and plazas of this historic metropolis.

8:00 AM: Breakfast with your host family
9:00 AM: Commute to class via the historic Subte (subway)
9:30 AM: Spanish classes at Academia Buenos Aires
11:30 AM: Mid-morning break (Mate and traditional pastries)
1:30 PM: Group lunch at a local cafe near the school
3:00 PM: Cultural Activity (Ex. Tango class or Museum visit)
6:00 PM: Leisure time and neighborhood exploration
8:30 PM: Dinner at homestay (traditional Argentine cuisine)
11:00 PM: Curfew and time to relax for the evening
Learn from a distinguished faculty at Academia Buenos Aires, the capital’s only Cervantes Accredited center and a premier leader in language instruction since 2004. The institute provides university-recognized curriculum aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference. Classes are held in a beautiful historic building just one block from Plaza de Mayo.
Classes run Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a mid-morning break with coffee, tea mate and traditional pastries to recharge. Students enjoy small class sizes with a teacher-to-student ratio never exceeding 7 students per class.

Colonia, Uruguay: Travel by boat across the Río de la Plata to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our expert-led excursion explores the cobblestone streets and historic Portuguese fort of this 17th-century colonial gem.
Gaucho Day in San Antonio de Areco: Experience the tradition of the Pampas at a traditional working ranch. This curated day includes horseback riding and an authentic Asado (barbecue) lunch alongside Argentine gauchos, the legendary cowboys of the region.
El Tigre River Delta: Discover one of the world's largest river deltas. We navigate the lush labyrinth of canals and islands by boat, providing a unique look at the natural biodiversity and stilt-house architecture of this massive freshwater ecosystem.
The Soul of Tango Show & Class: Witness a world-class professional performance before participating in a private tango dance class. This immersive session provides the cultural and historical context necessary to understand Argentina’s most iconic artistic export.
Pottery Workshop: Connect with Argentina’s creative spirit in a hands-on workshop where students learn the history of local ceramics and the artistic influences of the Río de la Plata. Under the guidance of master local artisans, you will create your own unique piece in a professional art studio.
Teatro Colón Theater Tour: Explore one of the world's most prestigious landmarks. Ranked as the third-best opera house globally and the fifth-best for acoustics, the Teatro Colón serves as the centerpiece of our study into the city’s thriving theater and operatic culture.
Buenos Aires is a city of neighborhoods. Our students live in carefully selected apartment homestays in safe, residential areas with easy access to the school. With professional airport transfers from EZE and 24/7 on-site support from our experienced program directors, we provide a high-support safety net for exploring this global metropolis.

Experience the sophisticated lifestyle of a Porteño through our carefully selected urban homestays. Housing in Buenos Aires typically consists of spacious, secure apartments located in safe, residential neighborhoods with convenient access to the language school via the Subte (subway). Students are placed with vetted families, typically 2-3 per home, where they enjoy daily breakfast and dinner prepared by their hosts. This environment offers a deep dive into Argentine cuisine and the famous evening conversation culture of the city. All homes include WiFi and are monitored by our veteran housing director to ensure a safe, high-support "home base" for your metropolitan immersion.

Through our partnership with Academia Buenos Aires, university transcripts are available as an add-on ($350) for students seeking to transfer credits to their home institutions. The university transcript is issued by ESEADE University.

Upon arrival, our on-site directors provide a comprehensive orientation on using the Subte and navigating the city's grid-like neighborhoods. Students always travel in groups or with staff during excursions, and our homestays are located in well-lit, professional districts. By combining 24/7 staff availability with a structured nightly curfew, we ensure students gain the confidence of "big city" living while remaining within a rigorous, staff-led safety net.
