Lorca Institute
Take Spanish classes at the Lorca Institute, located in the heart of Santiago de Compostela.
Enjoy afternoon cultural activities such as a Spanish cooking class, movie night, and engaging city tours.
Tour the famous Santiago Cathedral.
Travel to the Atlantic coast of Galicia with its dramatic coastline full of sandy beaches and hidden coves.
Visit Lugo and walk a portion of the Camino de Santiago.
Airport transfers (SCQ) are provided by a program director.
Experience authentic Spanish living with a carefully selected homestay. All homes are conveniently located within a 15-25 minute walking distance to the school, provide WiFi, and typically host two to three students. Your hosts will prepare all of your meals, allowing you to experience northern Spanish cuisine and cooking traditions.
Spanish classes are at the Lorca Institute, an international language academy located in the heart of Santiago's historic city center. Class times are M-F 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a mid-morning break.
Immerse yourself in Santiago's rich heritage with a diverse range of cultural activities. Take a guided rooftop tour of the historic Santiago Cathedral for a unique perspective of the city. Spend relaxing afternoons living like a local, catching a Spanish film at the theater, visiting a local swimming pool, hiking scenic trails, and exploring the spectacular nearby sandy beaches. Participate in a traditional cooking class, visit museums, and put your local knowledge to the test with a scavenger hunt.
Embark on a captivating weekend excursion to the seaside village of O Grove. Cruise on a catamaran to explore marine parks where oysters, scallops, and mussels are raised, complete with a tasting of fresh mussels. Enjoy a guided tour of Cambados, with free time for lunch, before heading to Illa de Arousa for a relaxing beach afternoon at Playa do Bao.
For your other weekend excursion, we begin in the village of Boente, an important stop on the Camino de Santiago. Hike a 5 km section of the Camino Francés (French Way), arriving in Ribadiso with free time to swim at the river beach. Afterward, visit Melide, a charming town also on the Camino, before heading to Lugo. In Lugo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, walk along its ancient Roman city walls and explore the historic center.
Morning: Breakfast with your homestay and walk to Spanish class.
Midday: Enjoy lunch and siesta at your homestay. Lunch is the main meal in Spain.
Afternoon: Cultural activities and free time.
Evening: Dinner at homestay, relax, and a get a good night's sleep. Dinner in Spain is a lighter affair.
